Then on moving day everything went as smooth as one could wish. The crew was incredible and very professional. I’ve never seen a moving team as on point as this. I got my money’s worth and then some with how good the entire process was. Just an absolutely incredible team and if I have to move again for any reason they will be my only call because there is nobody better.
UNFORTUNATELY, when I returned to do some cleanup at our old house, there was stuff everywhere. The crew had apparently told my husband that the truck was full so we would be responsible for the remainder of the items, despite paying for a full house move. I called the company and after several back and forths, they were unwilling to offer any kind of credit or have anyone come back to help us move. We have now spent hours moving these items left behind after spending $2900 (with tips).
We DO NOT and WOULD NEVER recommend movin murdy to anyone. We are so disappointed in the lack of customer service and unwillingness to help.

I inquired with several companies online about estimates and exactly what they’d move for us, how far, and turnaround time. Chris was one of the only ones who offered to come onsite (and ignored the packing chaos) to give an estimate. I’m usually the kind of person who would like to communicate online only, or texting, but I’m so glad he came to our house to review our options. Communication prior to the visit, during, and after, was A+.
Most of the above would be enough reason to rate them highly, but I haven’t even talked about the actual moving crew. They are experts. I work with engineers and physicists and I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t have been able to figure out how to move our large pieces of furniture so easily. My only explanation is that they’re magicians. Magicians with a side business in interior design, because they also intuitively knew exactly where we wanted furniture placed. I was incredibly impressed. Lord knows I hope to never move again, but if I do, I know who I’m calling. And I’ve already recommended them to colleagues and friends.
I spent a great deal of time obtaining estimates for an upcoming move. This included completing online inventories that didn't match with my belongings, talking to people who refused to go back over the inventory, because the quote didn't make sense, listening to people tell me they were quoting by the weight of my belongings...even though they hadn't seen even photos of what I have, and on and on and on. I got estimates ranging from $500 to $2000 for the exact same move.
Movin' Murdy was the only moving company that asked to schedule an on-site visit in order to give an accurate estimate. Chris came to my home and spent time explaining their processes, expectations, etc. He didn't judge my moving mess...lol, and he had an estimate to me within 24 hours. It wasn't the lowest estimate I'd received, but we had built rapport and the estimate seemed very reasonable, so I booked the move.
THEN, I purchased some beautiful used furniture from someone selling their home. I spent some time trying to figure out where to store the furniture before my move and trying to find a way to move it without spending a lot of money. The whole thing was so stressful that I finally gave in and called Chris at Movin' Murdy again, knowing this would be expensive. I was on a tight schedule and calling last minute, but Chris went out of his way to be helpful. He fit me in a day and a half later and he gave me a good price, accepting photos in lieu of an on-site visit.
The crew arrived timely with their truck and all necessary equipment and they got the job done within the 3 hour minimum, despite me making last minute changes. They worked hard and fast, and yet were so careful with the furniture and with the properties where loading and unloading occurred. They were personable and in good spirits the entire time, and really made it a stress free experience for me, which I really needed, at that point. Their skill was unmatched. The focus on customer satisfaction was wonderful, especially in today's world where it is so very rare.
We still haven't done my "actual" move, but I am so confident it will go well, that I feel completely comfortable leaving rave reviews. I won't hire or recommend any other company going forward. This is what good business is all about!
